The SOA Design & Architecture Lab with the examination number S90.09 is a one-day modular course. The course is a continuation of modules 3 and 8 wherein the participants will be taught of the application of technology, construction, methods, patterns and foundation of architecture.
During this one-day class, the participants will be given tasks to complete such problems which are interrelated with the end goal of creating an original design. In this task, the instructor and the participants must work closely to ensure success on their activities.
The course module is based on the book of Thomas Erl titled SOA Design Patterns. As an overview, the book contains patterns, designs, and specifications on service-oriented architecture and service inventories. Also, the integration of patterns to create solutions, runtime messaging and within the services controls are also found in this book. The mix and recommendation of patterns for the basic foundation is part of the reference.
Another reference is the SOA Principles of Service Design also by Thomas Erl. The book is composed of some of the topics such as the 240 colored images, explicit methods and concepts on cloud computing, detail explanation on the 4 forms of service-oriented designs, and an overview on how commercial designs are integrated to attain reusable logic of services. In addition, the book also tackles on the usage of WS-Policy, XML Schema, and WSDL definitions, how to maximize reliable, scalable, and presentation services through stateless plans.
After the modular classes, the participants are now encouraged to take the SOA citification. Before becoming a SOA-certified architect one must be ready to face different types of design obstacles and tests. One must be effective and capable to use and act on design patterns and processes. You must learn to appreciate the system of service designs and its part on the SOA project. Also, the appreciation on the usage of the different approaches of design and methods must be present.
In addition, a Certified SOA Architect must be proficient in the methods of SOA within the service-oriented design, infrastructure, solutions, and other related topics. To become an expert in this area one must have a strong understanding on the service oriented plan model and all other related topics, principles, and effects of the application. The basic or core elements, concepts, and terms of SOA must become the second language of a SOA architect. The SOA architect must not be stagnant and must learn the new technology and innovation of SOA.
SOA exams and modules are regularly revised for the betterment of the systems and applications.
